Hey, I have just started a Facebook group for my photography. If you're on Facebook then could you please drop my page a like? It would mean a lot: [link]
Yes, I use it for some stuff. Mainly I use a Canon 550D though. The NEX is amazing. Better than I was expecting, even. Picture quality is great and all the camera functions are brilliant. The slightly crappy lenses are a major drawback though, at least if you were using it as your main camera. The 16mm is VERY good in low light, though.
But it does brilliantly subtle HDR in-camera and it has autofocus in video mode, which is pretty much unheard of in a camera with a APS-C sensor like this.
awww thats weird you say that because im having real trouble making a decision on which camera to get...the nex or the 550d.lol although initially i was sold on the nex, i was drawn to the 550d purely because i want to take up photography quite seriously n thought the 550d would be better in the long run....im still so unsure, i really appreciate your reply though.n keep up the good work.
Go for the 550D - it has a mirrored sensor and, even though the NEX is more convenient in size & video, the quality of light in that camera is brilliant. Plus more lenses available for less cost and of better quality, and a far better layout with mode dials & an ISO button. If it's a choice between the two, go for the 550D.
